The existing building corresponded to a sum of disjointed interventions on the original constructions. The warehouses had been modified to allow the operation of different companies, the last being the Chilevisión television channel.
Three types of intervention define the scope of the project. They all include the concept of "resurfacing." In this way, some materials were also reinforced, such as glass painted with corporate colours, wood in different expressions and slate stone.
The emphasis was initially on the public spaces starting from the facade, the access, and the central hall, which is also the main circulation of the building. The modifications gave a character to the enclosure but did not change the identity of the television station. The process, in addition to being continuous, was generating appropriation by the staff members, the visitors and the owners.
The economy of resources weighed at the time of the decision making since in order to finally remodel the entire station, it was necessary to optimize costs by synthesizing the interventions but without losing the impact of the change.
